Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Job Description:



The independently managed four diamond Grande Colonial hotel, located in La Jolla is currently seeking an Assistant GM to join our hard working and energetic management team. 

 

The AGM is responsible for assisting the General Manager in overseeing the 93 guest rooms and on site nationally recognized restaurant Nine-Ten.  This person will demonstrate and promote a complete commitment to providing an exceptional level of service for hotel guests and employees.

 

The AGM has direct responsibility for all front office operations, including the reservations sales programs.  The AGM will also assume full responsibilities when General Manager is not available.  The AGM will inspect property and guest rooms on a daily basis.  The AGM will interact with all operating department to ensure achievement of property goals.

 

The AGM will perform duties assigned by the General Manager to develop efficiency and profitability in all aspects of property management, including revenue and distribution channel management.

 

Must have a minimum of 5+ years previous hotel experience either as a Director of Guest Services, Front Office Operations Manager, or  Director of Rooms.  Revenue management experience a must.  Exceptional communication skills are required with a focus on 4/5 Star level of customer service.  Office experience is a must with solid working knowledge of all Windows based programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong multi-tasking skills and excellent phone etiquette are required.

 

Candidate must be willing to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.

Job Description:

The NINE-TEN Restaurant in La Jolla is currently seeking a Full Time Sous Chef.  MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE.

The NINE-TEN is currently seeking an energetic Sous Chef to join our team.  Since, our menu is frequently changing, we are looking for the right candidate who can adapt and excel no matter what the menu has on it today.   The right candidate will also be highly organized, efficient, passionate, punctual, have a positive attitude. The ability to multi task and consistent punctuality are required in our kitchen.

Dependability and flexibility are a MUST in NINE-TEN's fine dining environment.



REQUIREMENTS:

·         5 years Kitchen experience and 2 years supervisory 

       experience. 

·         Fine Dining experience required. 

·         Culinary school graduate preferred. 

·         Food Handlers Card or equivalent.

·         This position is scheduled from  4:45am to 3:00pm (days to be determined upon hire). The right candidate will be available these hours and have the flexibility to adjust work days and/or hours as needed including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

·         Training, supervising, and working with staff to

        prepare, cook and present food.

·         Coordinate with Executive Chef on scheduling to    

        ensure proper staff coverage. 

·         Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

·         Maintains high level of food quality, freshness and 

       consistency at all times. 

 

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required. Must be able to effectively communicate in spoken and written English.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Acting as a Banquet Captain and Restaurant Supervisor.

·         Supervising and coordinating banquet activities to ensure that contracted food, beverage and meeting services are performed from beginning to end.

·         Overseeing functions as defined by BEO.

·         Preparing banquet checks.

·         Maintains function rooms and spaces in good working order and set for function and/or show.

·         Assisting with supervising and training of Nine-Ten and banquet staff.

·          Assisting in beverage inventory.

·         Continuously updating menus, lists and POSITOUCH.  

·         Assisting with ordering, cost control, department audits, data entry, applicant screening, floor supervision, etc.

·         Conducting regular inventory of all china, glass, silver and equipment.

·         All other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:    

·         Prior experience as an F & B Supervisor or Banquet Captain and Server required.

·         Restaurant supervisory experience a must.

·         Experience in restaurant fine dining service and considerable food and wine knowledge a MUST!

·         Bilingual a plus.

·         Ability to work on own and exercise sound judgment.

·         The right candidate will be highly organized, efficient, passionate, punctual, have a positive attitude.
