Leo Lopez joined the Grande Colonial team as Director of Sales in March of 2016. In this position, he leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales and catering sales functions, focusing on the group market. Before joining the Grande Colonial, Leo spent more than 16 years working at another La Jolla hotel, where he worked his way up from a Banquet Captain to Director of Group Sales.

He is a native of San Diegan, bringing a wealth of knowledge about the San Diego and La Jolla markets to the sales team. In 2019, he was named San Diego’s ‘Site Experience Salesperson of the Quarter’ by the San Diego Tourism Authority. A graduate of San Diego State University, Leo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.

He and his wife Julia live in Eastlake with their daughter and two sons. When not working or busy with his family, Leo enjoys good food, wine, sports, exercise, taking advantage of the San Diego lifestyle, and, of course, staying current on hospitality and meetings industry trends. He looks forward to building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with the customers of the Grande Colonial hotel.
